What is the difference between Qstone and natural stone?
Natural stone is undeniably beautiful but requires regular sealing as it is both more absorbent and softer than quartz stone. QSTONE has the beauty of natural stone with numerous added benefits. Unlike natural stone, QSTONE does not require regular sealing. QSTONE is available in a variety of stunning colours which nature has not been able to replicate. As QSTONE is manufactured in controlled conditions there is much less chance of colour variation than there is with natural stone.
How many Qstone colours are available?
There are currently 32 different colours available from four different ranges. You can see all the colour range in QSTONE Colour Palette.

How does Qstone compare to laminates?
Whilst laminates are a fantastic, cost-effective alternative they simply do not compare to the beauty and durability of QSTONE quartz stone. Laminates do possess some resistance to impact, scratching, staining and heat but not to the extent of QSTONE quartz stone. They are much more susceptible to damage and consequently are not covered by the same kind of warranty you’ll be guaranteed with QSTONE quartz stone. With proper care and maintenance you can expect your QSTONE surface to last for several years. Over the same period of time, even with care, a laminate surface is prone to chip and deteriorate. QSTONE is the smart choice for a surface that will last.
Yes, QSTONE is scratch and impact resistant. The surface of QSTONE measures 9H pencil hardness compared to a 6H hardness of most other solid surfaces. QSTONE will withstand general everyday use however it is not indestructible. We advise that no heavy loads are placed upon your QSTONE benchtop and we always recommend the use of a chopping board when using a knife.
Is Qstone heat resistant?
Whilst QSTONE can tolerate brief exposure to heat we recommend that hot items are never placed directly onto your QSTONE surface. We advise that you always use a trivet or hot pad to rest your hot items on.
Is Qstone stain resistant?
Yes, QSTONE is stain resistant. QSTONE is an impervious, non-porous material with an absorption rate of only 0.01%. QSTONE will resist staining from most household products including fruit juice, coffee, tea, wine, water-based markers, liquid food dyes, nail polish and nail polish remover.

QSTONE is a non-porous, hygienic material suitable for use in food preparation areas such as kitchen benchtops. It has been approved by the NSF for use in food preparation.
Is Qstone seamless?
Joins are normally not required in applications of fewer than 3 metres in length. Applications longer than 3 metres will require joins. However, depending on the size of the grain of the stone and the quality of the workmanship, these joins should be generally inconspicuous, but not seamless.
How do i maintain the appereance of my Qstone surface?
All QSTONE products should be cleaned with specifically formulated stone cleaners which are designed to protect and maintain the appearance without risk to the quartz stone. General cleaning can be undertaken using QSTONE Sanitize with a microfibre cloth. Warm water with a mild detergent such as dish washing liquid or, similar can also be used. QSTONE recommends QSTONE Crema, a soft sponge and a microfibre cloth for major, or stubborn cleaning.
To avoid possible complications, all QSTONE products should be cleaned and maintained regularly.

What is covered under the Qstone 10 year limited warranty?
The Distributor warrants that QSTONE quartz stone supplied to the Fabricator will retain its integrity and remain free from defects arising from its slab manufacture for a period of 10 years commencing from the date of installation subject to the terms and conditions specified in the warranty
QSTONE can be used as a splashback, however there are requirements that need to be followed and should be recognised before cupboards and benchtops are designed and signed off.
If installing QSTONE as a splashback, in accordance with AS/NZS5601 Standards, the gas cooktop requires a 200mm gap from the periphery of the gas burner to the QSTONE splashback. If selecting a gas burner, we strongly recommend you speak with your cabinetmaker/builder or stonemason and inform them of your decision. The main reason for this is due to the 200mm setback from the edge of the burner, in which the benchtop size (width) may need to increase to accommodate required setback (AS/NZS5601standard).
If installing an induction, or electric cooktop, the setbacks are not as great and only require a 50mm gap from the back edge of the cooktop to the QSTONE splashback.
