FAQ

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN QSTONE AND NATURAL STONE?

Natural stone is undeniably beautiful but requires regular sealing as it is both more absorbent and softer than engineered stone. QSTONE has the beauty of natural stone with numerous added benefits. Unlike natural stone, QSTONE does not require regular sealing. QSTONE is available in a variety of stunning colours which nature has not been able to replicate. As QSTONE is manufactured in controlled conditions there is much less chance of colour variation than there is with natural stone.

HOW MANY QSTONE COLOURS ARE AVAILABLE?

There are currently 24 different colours available from three different ranges. You can see all the colour range in Colour Palette.

HOW DOES QSTONE COMPARE TO OTHER ENGINEERED STONE?

Although most engineered stone possess very similar physical properties, what you will receive with QSTONE is unsurpassed customer service and commitment. Whilst QSTONE is a relatively new product in Australia, it’s distributor, JH Wilberforce, is a prominent and respected business in Western Australia, having servicing the building industry trades for over seventy years. The surface on the QSTONE Premium range is achieved by grinding the stone to a polish. This technique of finishing creates a superior surface shine and also allows any minor surface imperfections that may occur in the stone to be repolished. Most brands of engineered stone would require the entire face of the stone to be repolished which can be difficult and costly. With QSTONE Premium however, only the particular spot where the imperfection has occurred will require repolishing.

All QSTONE engineered stone is guaranteed by a 10 Year Limited Warranty, please click here for details. Please note that whilst QSTONE Seashell is covered by the warranty special care will need to be taken with the surface. Please read clause 7.1 in the warranty for further details.

WHAT APPLICATIONS IS QSTONE SUITABLE FOR?

QSTONE is suitable for benchtops, splashbacks, vanities, wall cladding and flooring. We do not recommend QSTONE for outdoor use as prolonged exposure to UV radiation can cause the pigment in the stone to fade over time.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING QSTONE?

QSTONE can be a stunning feature in any type of application providing the beauty of natural stone with the added benefits of stain, water, heat, scratch and impact resistance.

HOW DOES QSTONE COMPARE TO LAMINATES?

Whilst laminates are a fantastic, cost-effective alternative they simply do not compare to the beauty and durability of QSTONE engineered stone. Laminates do possess some resistance to impact, scratching, staining and heat but not to the extent of QSTONE Engineered Stone. They are much more susceptible to damage and consequently are not covered by the same kind of warranty you’ll be guaranteed with QSTONE Engineered Stone. With proper care and maintenance you can expect your QSTONE surface to last for several years. Over the same period of time, even with care, a laminate surface is prone to chip and deteriorate. QSTONE is the smart choice for a surface that will last.

However, depending on the size of the grain of the stone and the quality of the workmanship, these joins will generally be relatively inconspicuous and appear virtually seam-free.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN THE APPEREANCE OF MY QSTONE SURFACE?

All QSTONE products should be cleaned with specifically formulated stone cleaners which are designed to protect and maintain the appearance without risk to the QSTONE Engineered stones.Although less effective, general cleaning can also be undertaken using warm water with a mild detergent such as dish washing liquid detergents or similar.
